Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (hashed), optional phone.
- Listing data (Makers): business name, description, categories, city/ZIP, prices, photos, contact links — publicly visible.
- Inquiries & orders: the name, contact, message, order items and any delivery/shipping address or ZIP a Buyer submits, which we relay to the Maker so they can fulfill the request.
- Delivery-area checks: when a Buyer enters a ZIP to check a Maker's delivery radius, we look up that ZIP's approximate location to measure distance. We don't need or store a full street address for this check.
- Usage data: IP address, device/browser, pages viewed, approximate location (from IP) for search relevance, security and analytics.
- Cookies for sessions, preferences and anti-abuse.
2. How we use it
To operate the directory, publish listings, relay Buyer inquiries to Makers, provide search and maps, prevent spam and abuse, process optional Pro subscriptions, and communicate about your account. We do not use inquiry contents for advertising.
3. Sharing
We share information with Makers (the inquiry you send them), service providers acting on our behalf (hosting, email, payment processing for Pro, spam/CAPTCHA, analytics, mapping), and authorities where legally required. We do not sell your personal information. Public listing content may be indexed by search engines.
4. Third-party services
We use processors such as map/tile providers (e.g., OpenStreetMap), a payments provider (e.g., Stripe) for Pro billing, bot-protection (e.g., Cloudflare Turnstile/hCaptcha), and email/analytics tools, each governed by their own policies.
5. Your choices & rights
You can edit or delete your listing and account any time from your dashboard, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live (e.g., California/CCPA, EU/UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to opt out of certain processing. Contact us.
6. Data retention & security
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.
To keep dashboards manageable, some records are removed or moved automatically: unhandled inquiries are deleted after about 30 days; replied inquiries are archived after about 14 days and deleted about 30 days later; completed orders are moved to an Archive after about 14 days (archived orders are retained but may still be lost); and declined orders are removed after about 60 days. These windows may change.
Any order, inquiry, or message history shown in your dashboard is offered for convenience and is not guaranteed to be retained, complete, or recoverable — it may be removed or lost at any time, and we are not responsible for missing records. Please export and keep your own copies of anything you need (for taxes or otherwise).
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes & contact
We may update this policy and post the new date above. Requests? Contact us.
